School children invited to help make Edinburgh a smart city

Students from across the Scottish capital have been invited to suggest creative and innovative ways technology can be used to transform Edinburgh into a smart city.
The purpose of the project, which starts in the spring of 2020, is to increase the number of students engaging with data science in school. Children will be encouraged to develop their understanding of data-driven solutions and how data can be utilized to solve a number of issues, such as monitoring air quality on playgrounds or using technology to improve traffic flow.
Participating students will be invited in May 2020 to attend a Smart Cities event in Edinburgh where they will be able to showcase their solutions.
