Solar Squared glass brick stores energy from the sun while providing natural light
Innovation August 25, 2017

There’s a sunny new trend in home design. Researchers at Exeter University in England have created a solar cell that combines form + function. The Solar Squared design is a glass brick embedded with translucent photovoltaic solar cells that can store energy from the sun while letting in natural light when used as building materials. The bricks can be installed vertically, allowing them to capture solar energy in a variety of urban environments.
